Great reel. But I was asking for the best UL reel, or one that would at least be an upgrade to the Alphas Air.

Yea,Presso is one of the best UL reels, like all Pixy family...With shallow spool and proper line and rod I'll go 1/64 easy 8-)

1/64oz total weight...no way. I cant do that consistently/well enough to actually fish with a tricked out 16 Aldebaran BFS XG with a KTF spool and a SUL rod.

X2.
1/64oz is 0.44 grams. I am not sure if I can manage that with spinning tackle :-)

There has been quite a bit of discussion, in this thread and others, on “how low can you go”. My impression is that we have some extremely gifted people posting on TT. Sadly, me and average Joe are not that gifted. A lot of readers risk buying tackle only to discover that they cannot go that low with baitcasters.

For me with arguably the most finesse BFS setup around, cannot go that low total weight. I only count weights that are fishable with the setup.

Its possible. Its just hard to cast it accurately enough to use in tight quarters

Yea,and some flyes (streamers,f ex)is match heavier,-1/16,1/8...
And jighead of 1/32-1/64 with small plastic is very effective for the small non-predarors fish(crucian carp,or gold fish, for example) .It's really hard to catch them, they're smart and so gentle baiting. In Japan and England crucian fishing is very popular...
Plus ,all small game fish you can get too.

Depend of situation...mostly it's 0.1-0.2 PE line vs some fluoro or mono leader. lowest I'v tryed 0.06PE Duel Armored F+pro 2.5lb,now just got some Nanofil 4lb,-some guys tell it's good too.
The rods...Now build Matagi TWG-562XUL 0,2-1,0 gr line 1-2 lb :)

Im running 2lb Nanofil with a leader. Surprisingly strong line, just make sure your joining knot is good
