Great reel. But I was asking for the best UL reel, or one that would at least be an upgrade to the Alphas Air.

Yea,Presso is one of the best UL reels, like all Pixy family...With shallow spool and proper line and rod I'll go 1/64 easyJosh-G wrote:Obz wrote:Intersting read, is the daiwa presso not in the conversation anymore?

1/64oz total weight...no way. I cant do that consistently/well enough to actually fish with a tricked out 16 Aldebaran BFS XG with a KTF spool and a SUL rod.fffishing wrote:Yea,Presso is one of the best UL reels, like all Pixy family...With shallow spool and proper line and rod I'll go 1/64 easyJosh-G wrote:Obz wrote:Intersting read, is the daiwa presso not in the conversation anymore?

1/64oz is 0.44 grams. I am not sure if I can manage that with spinning tackle :-)
There has been quite a bit of discussion, in this thread and others, on “how low can you go”. My impression is that we have some extremely gifted people posting on TT. Sadly, me and average Joe are not that gifted. A lot of readers risk buying tackle only to discover that they cannot go that low with baitcasters.

For me with arguably the most finesse BFS setup around, cannot go that low total weight. I only count weights that are fishable with the setup.Dalleinf wrote:X2.ccass wrote:1/64oz total weight...no way. How match you put on your "No way you can throw a 1/64"

Re: Best UL BC for trouts in small streams
Its possible. Its just hard to cast it accurately enough to use in tight quartersfffishing wrote:Ok,let's bet. I can record and put it on Tub...VinnyOA wrote:No way you can throw a 1/64 ounce lure on a baitcaster lol Nice trolling though you earned my respect.

Sure,it's some requirements to have a bit spase,not so windy,not a 100 feet cast ...but! It's possible.

Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

Re: Best UL BC for trouts in small streams
Yea,and some flyes (streamers,f ex)is match heavier,-1/16,1/8...
And jighead of 1/32-1/64 with small plastic is very effective for the small non-predarors fish(crucian carp,or gold fish, for example) .It's really hard to catch them, they're smart and so gentle baiting. In Japan and England crucian fishing is very popular...
Plus ,all small game fish you can get too.

Depend of situation...mostly it's 0.1-0.2 PE line vs some fluoro or mono leader. lowest I'v tryed 0.06PE Duel Armored F+pro 2.5lb,now just got some Nanofil 4lb,-some guys tell it's good too.
The rods...Now build Matagi TWG-562XUL 0,2-1,0 gr line 1-2 lb
