Spinning reel question

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Spinning reel question

Post by BRONZEBACK32 » Sat Oct 14, 2017 7:43 pm

Is the foot on the shimano 2000 size reel smaller then the foot on a shimano 3000 size reel?

And is the foot smaller on a daiwa 2500 size reel vs the shimano 3000 size?

Thanks for any info.

Ususally the Shimano 2000 is a Compact model so it is on a 1000 body, so it will have a smaller foot, the 3000 foot will probably be the same as a 2500 because the 3000s are usually a compact model also. I am not so sure on the Daiwa 2500 vs Shimano 2500/3000 foot.

So I just checked and my 1000, C2000, and C3000 are all the same size. Through different years and models the foot length is constant (all shimano). I don’t have a non compact 3000 to compare to.
