How many Shimano Antares do you own?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I actually do agree that Antares is not worth its full retail price. And I have many reels to compare to. And it is overkill for bass fishing. I bought my 12 Antareses used in mint condition for around $230-$250 and use them for pike fishing with lures from 15g (or 1/2oz) and up.

Finally took the plunge and purchased the Antares 100 to go on my G.Loomis CBR958C DD Crankbait stick. Feels beautiful, the Calcutta Conquest 100 was a wicked reel and sold it needed some cash replaced it with the Curado 200I PG. Curado was nice but that's sold too so can't wait to get some time in with the Antares!

You need "none" as a category up there.

I own one, one of the new DCs. I like it.

I agree. You need a "none" option in the poll.

I added the "none" option and it wiped out the responses :-({|=

I added my data back into the poll - I'm at 14 right now, with plans to get about 7 or so more.

Zero.. I used to own some JDM reels (Antares AR, Metanniums, Pixy). But ultimately I kept going back to either Curado Es or now some different Lew's. The JDMs were nice, but the Curados and Lew's just seem to be more robust for my type of fishing.

I just added three more to my collection. I'm up to 17 Antares and 8 Calais (4 regular and 4 DC).
