Morrum SX1600C Hi Sp

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Morrum SX1600C Hi Sp

Post by Drew03cmc » Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:23 pm

I just got my first Morrum SX1600C Hi Sp and was curious what spools were available to make the reel a little lighter and slightly less capacity. The box claimed 20lb/200yds. No way in hell that's fitting, but I'm looking to fill with 8lb Hybrid and slap it on my Phenix M1 ML. Any suggestions or is the Avail 1640 the only one?

Great reel and I been using mine for years. Avail makes an excellent finesse spool for the reel. Japan tackle might have another spool for that reel. Also Hedgehog might have one available for that reel.

Looks like that is your only option if not wanting to go really shallow. I have an IVCB Morrum with a similar sized spool and it'll hold plenty of line capacity for your line of choice.
