Shims for Shimano reel handle knobs

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Shims for Shimano reel handle knobs

Where do you guys order your shims for shimano reel handles? I know they would be 4mm ID x 7mm OD but unsure about the thickness. I'd like to order several to remove the play in my knobs on a few reels. Might purchase some locally if I can find them with the proper size and thickness.

If you have a hobby shop near you they can probably hook you up.
If not, Amainhobbies.com usually has a good selection.

If you get them, try using the thinner shim and cup it over a screwdriver. When it goes in it creates a preload and avoids any further side to side movement with wear.

I know some washers sizes and reels you can't ever find that sweet spot - even backing off screws and locking them in is the only way.
