Daiwa ICAST 2017 (2018 products)
Re: Daiwa ICAST 2017 (2018 products)
Here's some info that I could find:
Daiwa Fuego LT (Light & Tough):
http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-fuego ... reels.html
Tatula LT:
http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-tatul ... reels.html
Ballistic LT:
http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-balli ... reels.html
I think they look great! Hopefully they are improvements over the old models and the Tatula (which looks like it replaces the Procyon) looks like a nice addition.

I know what's going to be under my Christmas tree this year... a Ballistic 2500 LT!

I really hope the Ballistic LT has line roller bearings, really bothered me that the EX did not.
Re: Daiwa ICAST 2017 (2018 products)
Am I correct that they are all based on the same platform give or take a few bearings and color scheme?

The Tatula and Ballistic look to be based on the JDM Theory (http://www.daiwa.com/jp/fishing/item/re ... index.html), while the Fuego looks like a Revros (http://www.daiwa.com/jp/fishing/item/re ... index.html).
Re: Daiwa ICAST 2017 (2018 products)
I would say you are pretty close. The Tatula is a revampled Procyon. I will stick with my Ballistics., I will order the Ballistic LT in the 2500 series to go along with my other Ballistics and original Sol.

Agreed. Anyone know if these new models will have line roller bearings? Also looking for the weights, not up on TW yet.DirtyD64 wrote:I really hope the Ballistic LT has line roller bearings, really bothered me that the EX did not.

All the new LT spinning reels are on Daiwa website. Weights are posted there for each reel in each series.
Re: Daiwa ICAST 2017 (2018 products)
Still waiting. I really hope they add those... Kinda necessary in this day to have line roller bearings on a spinning reel. I realized yesterday that my Revo spinning reels (which catch a bad rap) have a bearing under the drag knob, not too shabby. Great features and customer service, just not the refinement and reliability of Daiwa/Shimano.sarcazmo wrote:Agreed. Anyone know if these new models will have line roller bearings? In case anyone is wondering, I received an email from Daiwa today:
Anyone know the diff between the 3000CXH and 2500D? It looks like maybe just the spool?
I'll probably buy one of each to check them out.Hi Alex,
From the new LT line of reels, only the Ballistic LT and Tatula LT have line roller bearings.

Re: Daiwa ICAST 2017 (2018 products)
Thanks, I am really glad to hear that. It always shocked me that the old Ballistic EX had like 9 or 10 bearings, and none of them were on the line roller. I am tempted to try the Tatula LT for an ultralight setup, been needing one of those for a LOOOOONNGG time.sarcazmo wrote:In case anyone is wondering, I received an email from Daiwa today:

I've got two rods here that need spinning reels, was going to go with the old faithful stradic Ci4 but I'll probably wait and grab a couple of these instead.DirtyD64 wrote:Thanks, I am really glad to hear that. Be interested to see if the new reels keep the same spool dimensions as the current reels or whether they've shimanoized the spools to make everything smaller to save weight.
