Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I would love to see the vanquish come over here. For the extra money you would have to spend I feel it will be a big seller due to its very smooth light rotation and for the bass market it will be probably be a high seller

You would be looking at an MSRP of over $500.

I'd drop a stella for an exsense....Reminds me of the Jag xj220 from the movie the Wraith!! :)
Not sure I'd sacrifice the Stella... Hoping to have one in my future! ;) But the Exsence wouldn't be a bad addition to the lineup! Sharp looking reel, for sure.

That's what the Aldebaran 50 is basically. But with a much better spool.

The 70/71 Scorpion/Curado is just the most comfortable (to me) Shimano reel. Holds as much line as my Metaniums. Feels better to me than Core/Ald 09, Ald 15, CH51mg and the Mets.

Personally, I feel the Curado 50E/Scorpion XT1000 platform is hard to beat. Set and forget brakes, light, compact and easy to palm, 4 Kg of drag, durable and capable of handling big fish.

im referring to ergonomics only, although i do prefer the 71 to the 51e. the 51Es are bad little reels though. Never selling my tuned Aldebaran Mg7s!

This guy is on point ^ :big grin:

I love my Core 100's and MGL's but my 50's are my gems.

What are the chances Shimano releases a 70 size Chronarch Mgl? I'd definitely jump on that.

I mentioned this... I guarantee if they did that, had a small high end reel, then eventually Daiwa will replace the Alphas/105... Wonder how mad everyone would be if they gave a Pixy the TWS treatment...

Chronarch 70 would be redundant. I doubt they will MGL spool the 70 this year as it was just released a year ago.
Kinda like the Chronarch E.

Wouldn't that be like redoing the Core MG50?
