EMTF reel under 200

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

EMTF reel under 200

Post by Mothra » Tue Apr 18, 2017 8:15 pm

Looking for a reel to pair with this rod. I will be using the rod as a multipurpose tool. Anything from soft plastics to single hook moving baits. I was thinking maybe a Daiwa tatula, but don't know much about the lineup. I have shimanos and lews, but not married to any brand. Thanks

I would try to find a reel in the 7 to 8 oz range to balance out the rod that also casts 3/8 oz to 1 oz well. A used mint condition TD Zillion comes to mind. A new Tatula SV would be a good option as well.
