Switching Tatula handles to a TDZ

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Switching Tatula handles to a TDZ

Post by Snidley » Wed Jan 04, 2017 8:37 am

Has anyone here tried and succeeded in switching Tatula handles on to a TDZ? I love the handles on the Tat but not that keen on the reel for bass. I love my TDZs and would love to switch but it looks daunting.
Thanks

i put the type r zaion drag star and tatula handles on a few TDZs. i really like them. there's nothing daunting about it. you unscrew a nut and screw a new one on.

You would not use the original plastic cover
This is what you need
- swept star + corresponding collar (match size to specific star)
- nut/nut plate/screw
You may also require different spacing washers depending on selected star
