Appreciate the kind words. I haven fished these a ton either. I think once or twice each max.Dalleinf wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:30 pmHa. Sorry. I did not notice the date of the old post.
Beautiful SV103s you have there.
I use ZPI in mine too. Or should I say, I have ZPIs in my SV103s as I rarely use the reels. I do not think I used them at all in 2021-2022. Hope for time to give them a workout in 2013.

The Zillion TW SV was a better performing reel for sure. I have one. I got it just to take that awesome spool out of it along with some other choice parts to put on my Tatulas. I would have left it alone and fished it if it didn't palm so bad wasn't blue and was smooth. It was a better casting and lighter weight Zillion new no doubt but ultimately didn't hold up the way the TD Zillion platform has. They are good used reels to pick up since the prices have cratered. That spool alone is worth the price of admission. I think I paid $73 for mine shipped. Took the spool, crank shaft and spool tension cap off it then cobbled together a horrible franken frog reel out of mismatched parts.

Franken reel in question. Tatula long arm crank. Non acorn style spool tension cap. T3 MX spool. Fuego CT handle. Alphas SV drag star. Compression washers removed from drag for permanent locked drag and to clear the star. I frogged with it last summer and it caught a few. Hard to backlash too with that aggressive T3 MX spool braking profile.
Here is where it's crank arm and lock plate ended up. Spool and spool tension knob are on my T3 MX
