What is your preferred reel cover

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I have a dozen Shimano baitcaster reel covers, given to me ten years ago by a friend who was sponsored by Shimano. He gave me both blue and red covers. They are a coarse, canvas-like fabric, but they protect my reels when they are in my reel bag. I wouldn't use them on a reel on my boat deck, because I think they would rub too much.

I am definitely a fan of the daiwa covers. I have tried shimano, tw, and cabelas, but non work as well as the daiwas.

Thanks for posting this. I thought about cutting slots in my oKuma covers to accommodate line. You have to dig common sense innovation.
