bought my T3 from aliexpress few month back. so far i'm impressed, cast farther than my zillion sv tw with same setup (same rod, same line, same spool-diy, same lure). $129 t3 vs $253 zillion it's make me
I was actually plan to get another t3 if got extra cash in pocket, just for the sake of having extra t3

I payed for $100 for my T3 Ballistic.
That thing is a POS. The MX is suposedly a much nicer reel and it's only $129 right now, Maybe a deep DIY and Kuying Top Caster ML will redeem the Ballistic but that's a $100 investment into a $100 noisy plastic POS reel. Hard to pull the trigger but the reel serves as an enabler to my Kuying Top Caster and deep DIY curiosity.

you better grab 1 of those T3 MX, there are about 37 units left. i actually keep monitoring how much they sold for a month since last June either to pull the trigger or not. If I have extra budget right now i'll get it straight away before this reel become extinct. when I shop for this reel few months back, there are at least 4 seller selling it, but now it's only 1 seller got stock available

I can't pay any amount of money for a T3 ever again. I am biologically incapable. The T3B ruined the platform for me. At this point I think I am owed money for punitive damages and suffering.

I have the MX, regular, and the Ballistic and I have to say that I like the MX the most. My MX BFS setup with a DIY spool is great. Especially because the prices went down so much for the T3 platform. The Ballistic is really a POS compared to the other T3's.

Is the MX really that much nicer than the Ballistic? The T3B is a nasty reel. I like the flip up hood, spool compatibility and Magforce 3D of the platform. $129 brand new for a T3 MX is tempting if it's not horrid like the T3B.

I had both. Yes, the MX is an entirely different animal. I burned rat-l-traps with the one I had and never had a problem. I kind of miss mine, as it was smooth and tight, so much better than the Ballistic.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Do the higher end T3 variants have any other common issues? They are pretty neat looking reels and would make an interesting classic/older reel for a certain rod...

The T3 SV spool would get the stuck inductor issue like the SV105 spool. I have the T3 like more than my SV105.

The flip up hoods snapped where the retaining pin was located, needed a complete redesign and or pins both sides and or curved plate pins than thin guage wire. The Zaion plastic in that spot wasn't strong enough by any means...

The rubber U shaped piece on the hood is always peeling off. Really annoying if you ask me. instead of properly gluing it to the hood, they're using some cheap double sided tape that loses its stickiness in under half a season.
