New 2015 Steez SV

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

You sure? it's an overhead shot.
Could it be that the reel sits lower? Objects that are closer to the lens look bigger than objects farther away(like holding bass out in front of you for the photo :D ). Could be the EX sits higher.
The cast control knobs are the same size in the photo. Drag star looks bigger on the smaller new steez.
And when zooming in, the handle side plate is different- has an extra square hump.

I'm not 100% sure it's an optical illusion :-k
Photo is on that tz lure page. Grab the photo & zoom in.

I think there is some major confusion here....Spooky your question was if the New (yet to be introduced) Steez SV was smaller then the Steez EX.
Then it was brought up by Jerry C that the Steez SV appeared to be the same size as the ltd. edition SV' (JDM)

Then cndbass "chimed in" that the NEW Steez SV and the Steez ltd. Edition are indeed the same size. He may have seen it already although it has not been out yet.

Your question was about size of the NEW (yet to be introduced) Steez SV comparable in size to the Steez EX. not the ltd edition.

I don't think anyone really knows yet.

If I was home I could tell you if my SV ltd 105 is the same size as my Steez EX....I am on road on business till friday ...maybe smeone eles that has both the EX and the SV can check. But that still would not answer your question for sure at least not for another 30 days when ICAST occurs.

Thanks e73, That clears things up. I didn't know the ltd was a different size than the other steez.

Don't know yet if it is. I am actually gonna be home and will post pics of it as compared to the EX and the 103HA. Then we just need to wait and see how it matches in size to the NEW unreleased Steez USDM 103 SV. According to CND the newer JDM SV ltd series and the USDM Steez SV are the same size. He may have seen them.

Steez 105SV Ltd. (JDM) vs the Steez EX 7.1 (USDM)....same size.
So if the Steez 103 SV (Yet to be introduced) is indeed the same size as the Steez Ltd; then it would be the same size as the EX.

It was also brought up that the 7.9 EX has larger side plates for the larger gear which may of appeared to make it larger. However the TZlure article also showed the NEW Steez SV to be in a 8.1 and one would think the side plates would be the same sizeas the EX 7.9.
Guess we'll find out in a few weeks.

The left hand steel ex 7.1 should be the only oddball in the current/future lineup in regards to frame size. The rest should all be the same.

Wouldn't a smaller Steez overlap with the SS SV...? Both magnesium frames, both with SV spools...

How many Steez SV's are there going to be introduced at ICAST? There's several places here on TT (under the post - Icast Sneak Peek) where there's pictures of them (slides 107-109). Slide 107 describes the reel as having a G1 duralumin spool. The SV 103 & SV 105 (slides 108 & 109) describe the spools as A7075 aircraft aluminum.

Is the G1 duralumin spool the same as the A7075 aircraft aluminum? Dumb question - Are there three models or just two (103 & 105)? I guess this will be revealed in a couple of weeks. Just wondering.........

1 is a -Steez 103SV

the other 2 reels appear to just be called SV103 and SV105....doubt they are under the Steez label.

I personlly believe the SV105 is a JDM Alphas 105SV replication.

Many believe the SV103 is a OG Zillion frame....myself... I believe it will be the JDM SS SV 103 replcation and the pic that is on TZLure may be inaccurate.

Especially after reading this very recent TT review about the JDM SS SV103 AND its mention of the the strong possiblilty of it being brought over to the USA at ICAST.

I'm thinking that ss sv is the usdm steez sv but add click CC and longer handle.

+1 I doubt that reel hit the market. It would be nice though...
