Beast?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Has anyone tried this reel? I am still trying to figure how it won best reel over the conquest and 13 reels.

In the same ratio I seriously don't think any reel can beat the Conquest.

Best in show doesn't have much to do with being a good product. It probably won because it's called Beast. The Conquest was not even entered in the best new products, if memory serves. Still beat the new Stella though.

I purchase what I want and that is why I purchased a 2014 Calcutta Conquest. ;)
I have not seen or held a Beast but It has to be one heck of a reel to beat the Conquest.

The 2014 Calcutta Conquest is by far (IMHO), the best cranking reel out there.
That is until I can get my hands on a Lin. 8-)

I think it had already been released in Japan at the Osaka show, so it wasn't really "new" when it came to icast.

Beast is 7.1.......dont see it as a true cranking reel in the same vein as the conquest
