Shimano Fighting Star Mechanism

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Wow! Thank you for posting this. I have a lot of great memories of the fighting star and the Black Magnum!! Is was my first baitcaster. I regretfully sold it for $10. Terrible decision!

All I know is that Black Magnum would look awesome on a 20$ rod.
Question is, would this combo endure the trials until electronic lures hit the market?

Shimano patented it.

I used the black magnums for decades and still even have one of these old reels on my flippin' rod today.

Given the patent is 21 years old and the chinese have never seen a patent that couldn't be violated, why not have some company bring this feature back in a series of reels for a rock bottom price of say, $20.00? Should be an easy project to dovetail in with your bulletproof aluminum jon boat.

This is not a response. It is a save. Right now the above post could be deleted or edited. By my quoting it as I am now it can not be deleted and what I quote can not be edited by the person who posted the antagonistic jab above. I want this evidence to stay here so others can see for themselves who the aggressive antagonists are- a problem needing to be solved and it will be.

Thanks again for all the support and PM's. I look forward to much more from this forum, and fishing with some of you in the very near future.

Were these reels before or after the GT2000 series?
