Tatula pic's

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Tatula pic's

Post by k3fishing » Tue Oct 28, 2014 10:55 am

This is a pic or two of my Tatula:
1) Hedgehog Drag Star
2) Hedgehog Spool Tension Knob
3) Hedgehog handle cap/plate/screw
4) Hedgehog cap on bottom of twing
5) Japanese Tatula shallow spool
6) Daiwa steez ex 100 mm handle
The handle came with 2 bearings and the rubber coated cork knobs, so I took the bearings from the old handle and put them on the level whined.

Nice reel!!
Could you weigh the japanese shallow spool (I think is 103 size) with the original 100 of the Type R?
Thanks!

Ist funny about what was said about the mods costing more than the reel. So true, especially when you can get the reel for 130.00. I tried to do this on a budget. When I ordered from hedgehog I got other things so I didnt have to pay shipping again. Spool cost 49.00 plus shipping, the handle with nobs came from tackle trap it was 69.00, but also got other things to offset shipping.bearings didnt have to buy for the lw. I got a new rod and put the standard type r on it and it didn't look right so I tried to think of functionality and cool for what I'm using it for. Hope to get some pics of reel and rod together to see what you guys think.
