Curious if Shimano is slowly doing away with regional products and going for global distribution (Metanium, Antares, Chronarch CI4+)
Either way, great news to get the equivalent reel with a US warranty.

Shimano goes out of their way to tout how the new 100 is smaller in many dimensions than the old 50... They are setting you up for there no longer being a 50 sized version, as the 100 is now 50 sized with a 100 size spool.

The truth hurts besides that I really cannot wait for the new CQ to go with my megabass I am getting soon.

I wonder if they will bring the JDM reel or a watered down version. I hope it’s the reel McCoy, but to be honest I don’t mind buying reels from Japan. Rods now that’s another story.

I don't think they would price it above the Antares. In the shimano Japan catalog the CQ is slightly cheaper than the Antares.
