Lew's Team Pro Speed Spool Casting Reel TLP1SH

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Does anyone here fish this reel?
If so, what do you think of it?

Not sure if this is the one you're referring to. If so, I've written a review of it.

I have one and it's great. Finish is almost un scratchable, all aluminum and super light weight. They are a steal at the tw price

love mine. the finish is purty and it's durable. the stock spool is only 12 grams...pretty light for a stock spool. my gripe, however, is that it comes with head-scratchingly puny 80mm handles :-k

Is there any difference between the two team pros listed on tackle warehouse?
Or is it just the minor cosmetic differences?

Have you looked to see if there are longer aftermarket handles available?

You can get a 95mm lew's carbon fiber handle. Tackle Trap usually has them in stock.

nybassin, yes, there are slight differences. the newer one (sporting the Z designation in the model name) has a different, stronger drag (14 lbs. versus 10 lbs.). otherwise, it has more gold bling on the exterior.

mark, i have the 95mm lews carbon handle mounted on mine and put the team pro's 80mm handle on my daiwa alphas type-F:

sadly, i wanted to move the team pro's foam handles to the 95mm carbon handle but the shaft diameters are different.

Didn't get it from tacklewarehouse....the tackle trap gave me a good deal on a standard tatula
