Reel of the Year 2012

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Calcutta TE100 DC

Used it in the fall cranking for the first time and was blown away by the cast ability. Most excited to use it next year on a 7' rod. Still trying to find a worth for a 2nd cranking setup but for now I don't need 2.

The reel I used most this year was my Core 100MgFV. Had it paired mainly with a BCR893GLX (and later NRX893JWR) fishing at the local pond and on trips.

This year was all about my Core 51mg as well. However, I just acquired a 101D7 and am looking into a conquest 51 so the competition for next year might get steep quick.

Man, you guys have such nice reels that it makes me want to upgrade.

My reel of the year would have to be my gen2 premier 6.4:1. Tried the 7.1:1 and I felt like I was losing too much power. Hopefully next year I'll have a higher end reel as my reel of the year.
