Gen. 2 Premier

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Gen. 2 Premier

Local sporting goods store has 2nd. gen. Revo premiers on close out sale for 190.00 , this a good deal ? Are the 3rd. gen. premiers worth the extra money. Would put reel on a med/heavy, 7 foot rod rated for up to 20lb. line and 1oz. lures, for fishing gigs, 3/4 oz spinnerbaits and maybe Rapala DT16's. Thanks, Steve

The gen II premiers are very good reels. The dual braking systems work very well.

x5. I think AG really screwed up putting the IVCB brake system on the Gen3 Premier. The Gen2 Premier could be their best low profile reel ever. But $190 is not a GREAT deal. I was buying them new for that online 2 years ago. Might want to check around on the pricing.
