Re: Reel of the Year 2011
I too absolutely love round reels and as far as my reel of 2011 I definitly would have to say my ryoga 1016. I love it so much already and I can't begin to imagine how great it's gonna be when the rcs 1012 spool comes in.

Re: Reel of the Year 2011
I love my Alphas Ito 103. Its been supertuned (polish etc.), AEBC9's, 11+1 Bearings, Swept Handle, Carbontex upgrade....the whole works. Yet, I find myself grabbing my Zillion Type-R's more last year than any of the reels I have. Oddly, I traded one of the Type-R's for an Alphas 103.

And with the addition of a TZ-100M spool, orange seals and some polishing she sure fishes nice!!!Buck2thPerch wrote:I love my Alphas Ito 103. Re: Reel of the Year 2011
For me its been the Calais 200 DC and a very close second to the Calcutta 100 DC I got earlier this year. This year I have dedicated time to crank-bait fishing and the 100DC on a CBR843C I got for my birthday (unbelievable combo for anything fro 1/8 oz all the way up to about 1/2 oz imvho), but the Calais DC with 13lb 832 on a BCR893GLX does supernatural things with anything plastic: weightless, split-shot, wacky, T'd, light jigs... I just can't help picking up that rig!
Re: Reel of the Year 2011
I would say for me it was the 101d with the antares AR a close second.
Re: Reel of the Year 2011
I picked up three new reels this year. A calcutta te 100dc, a zillion type r and a conquest 100. I have tried to give them equal time but I keep going back to the conquest. The more I use it the more I love it. The zillion is in 2nd & the te 100dc is in third.
Re: Reel of the Year 2011
Same here. I added a straight Conquest 100 this year (already had the 50 & 200), and the CQ100 is that reel that can just about do just about everything well, and it is simply one of the easiest and best performing reels I've ever used, especially on an MBR 783 GLX. Perfection! Special consideration goes to a Morrum 3600 IVCB-4 which is another top performing reel in my boat. It's a little quicker than the CG100 and it's another user-friendly, superb caster.dhottle wrote:I picked up three new reels this year. A calcutta te 100dc, a zillion type r and a conquest 100. Re: Reel of the Year 2011
The reel I fished the most in 2011 was the Citica E 201. Second place would go to my Calcutta TE DC 201.

Steezy fo Sheezy. We will see how the T3 compares. The Machine Gun Steez matched up with an NRX = Bliss

Re: Reel of the Year 2011
You beat me to it. LOL! I saved my last Zillion Type-R just for this and it is going to be my main pig-n-jig setup. I know you definetely got the better end of the deal!bstuckey wrote:And with the addition of a TZ-100M spool, orange seals and some polishing she sure fishes nice!!!Buck2thPerch wrote:I love my Alphas Ito 103. Re: Reel of the Year 2011
Luvias 2506 Custom 1st reel to be picked up and the reel that is used the most.
Re: Reel of the Year 2011
My favorite this year was the Quantum EXO 6.6:1.
Re: Reel of the Year 2011
Chronarch D7. It's still my favorite for all around performance and quality.
Re: Reel of the Year 2011
Boggles the mind how such a popular reel has been discontinued and it's name watered down by merely rebadging last years Curado E.db220 wrote:Chronarch D7. It's still my favorite for all around performance and quality.
