Re: iCast 2012
whoa....what the crap is that? looks like the lowest model silver calcutta from the good old days. i like the idea of programmable settings, but why outsource the ability to adjust a reel to a phone? shouldn't the reel have the means to adjust itself built in? but why apple? don't they make enough money already! im interested though, very interested.....

Re: iCast 2012
The downside to that is in order to change the gear ratio you have to buy the app, no price as of yet.

Re: iCast 2012
It was all in fun guys. I thought I'd post some off the wall humor in the aftermath of the Shimano fiasco. I've been truly loyal customer to that company for 20+ years.( I never touched another brand). This year I was looking forward to an upgraded Chronarch. And man, what a surprise! I need a cooling off period. Anyways I'm speechless and leaning toward a PX Type R.(My FIRST Daiwa).
As for the pictures, it was an inside joke between Nitroman77 and myself. Its a 1992 Calcutta. Its been a workhorse for 19 years. I had Calfish give her a new paint job and Nitroman77 gave her some 7's and a carbon drag. One more season for her then on the shelf.

That's an excellent reel!!

That reel is gonna "rock your world"...damned great choice for your first Daiwa. No "fat girl" for you...got one of the prettiest cheerleaders right off the bat, eh?deathb4golf wrote:This year I was looking forward to an upgraded Chronarch. And man, what a surprise! BTW, I have owned my share of (many) Shimanos, including 150/250/2 x 100 TE GTs/100 Calcutta DC/50 Conquest for round reels.

Re: iCast 2012
The sad thing is, is that I won't know how to dance with her. I mean , I have NO clue on how to set those brakes. I'm not gonna buy her till next month. I'll search the board for tips, if I have problems, I'll post.
