Difference between TD-X 103h airmetal and td-z 103h
Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone can confirm any other differences between the 2 models aside from bearings? I am assuming that the difference of 5 bearings are in the handle knobs (4) and worm?
Thanks!

Tdx have a different spool. I believe it is alloy vs ceramic. I always hear people mention the bearing difference, but no one ever mentions the spool. I think the spool may be the most significant difference, IMHO.

Here is some interesting info. http://www.japantackle.com/Daiwa_reels/Daiwa_TDX.htm
I own the TD-X105H and changed out the spool with one from a TDZ-105H. A "sleeper" reel IMHO.

also the air metal tdx model has a ceramic line guide, were the tdz has the titanium line guide.

TDX:
aluminum spool
non clicking spool tension knob
different tension knob ( like the one you find in the Fuego )
ceramic line guide
less bearings
slightly heavier than 6.5 oz
TDZ:
Composite spool
clicking spool tension knob
titanium nitride line guide
more bearings
less than 6.5 oz ( depending upon model )
