Steez 103SHA vs. 100SHA

I have a Steez 103SHA and a Steez 103HA. I am going to get another Steez in the 7.1 gear ratio. My question is am I missing anything by sticking to the 103 and not trying out a 100? 95% of the duty of the reel will be pitching Beavers or other weighted plastics. Just looking for some input if I should try out the 100? I like the idea of the longer handle, but I am a huge fan of pitching with the 103's that I have already. Thanks!

I've owned both and done several side by side comparisons.. When it comes to lighter baits and pitching duties the 103 is a gem.. Where you'll see the difference is with heavier lures, where the 100 seems to hit it's sweet spot.. The only way I know to really describe it is, the 103 casts and pitches great, whereas the 100 seemed to lag some with the pitching, shorter presentations and the lighter baits... The 103 is the way to go for me, as I sold both of the 100's and replaced them with 103's.... Good luck.....

So funny...I just bought one of each and I like the 100SHA....I bought the 103 to pitch and the 100 to cast...Thing is, I'm pitching heavier baits and I like the 100 for both (of course, with a big brush hog you could pitch with an old levelwind w/o a free spool)...I have Core 50Mg7s for pitching lighter stuff and got the Steez's for their line capacity...Actually thinking about turning my 103 into a 100, for the apps I'm using them for right now.

Just curious because I'll be picking up one in the near future but would the 103SHA pitch 3/8-1/2 oz jigs better than the 100SHA or at that weight it wouldn't really make a difference.

Won't make that much of a difference, if any.

3/8 is the cutoff for me. 3/8 and less, I like the 103 better for pitching. Anything heavier, pitching or casting, I prefer the 100 size reel.

What is the low end under 3/8 oz for you with the 103? And what reel do you like to use for stuff too light for the 103?

Paired with the right line and right rod, the 103 pitches 1/8 oz texas rigged finesse plastic (NO, not a 5" senko! ) very nicely. Of cousre, e_bassfisher has worked his magic my steezes and that definitely makes a difference. I like pitching 1/4 oz jigs with it as well. Anything lighter than that, I go Pixzilla or Conquest 50 most often. I do pitch heavier baits with the 103, but performance wise, at about 1/2 oz, I don't think there is a significant difference between it and the 100 steez.
