just got my chronarch, wow its sweet!

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I've been fishing with my curados the past two years, I love those reels but man the chronarch is smooth solid, and casts a mile! The only thing I didn't care for was the small sized handle so I put the curado handle on it. It looks good on my loomis 783!

man try upgrading the spool bearings if you think it casts a mile stock...put some nice ABEC 9s in it and you wont want to use anything else...its amazing

Chromarch D I assume? That is a lot of people's favorite reel in the Shimano line up. "Feels" smoother than the Core and is smoother than the Chronarch 50MG because of the non-Magnesium frame...Feels more powerful than both as well. Now if they would give me an option with Curado E7 line capacity I'd be one happy camper (Come on ICAST)...It would be great if they follow the Curado platform with a 200/150-ish size and a 50-size option. The D7 only holds 5 more yards of line than the 50-sized reels...

Its the 101D7, yea I was wishing it had more line capacity so I could use it for steelhead in the winter. I guess that's where my curado comes in. I didn't realize how much nicer the chronarch is!

Where do you get the ABEC 9s bearings. I have 2 Chronarchs that perform great, but I want to try one with the upgraded bearings.

I added a avail shallow spool and mag brake kit to my d7 ,and turned it into a great finesse reel.

Glad to hear you like it. That's my next reel. I've owned a bunch of earlier Chronarchs, but not the D. looking at ordering one soon.
