dropshot reel

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

dropshot reel

I am currently looking for a good reel to use drop shooting and i thought i would ask and see what everyone else uses. I know that the best reel type for drop shooting is a open faced reel. But what is the best size of reel, and what gear ratio? Also what do you think is the best reel for drop shooting under $150?

I personally use a Shimano Stradic Ci4 in size 2500. If I were looking for one around $150 I think I'd pick the Stradic FI in either 1000 or 2500 size.

You can find stradic Ci4s for around 150. I would go with the 2500 size.
