cleaning question

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

how about carberator cleaner, anyone ever used it? Comes in pressurized can, evaporates quickly...seems like that would work well. And I have some of that out in the garage.. :D

On new reels I will use it as is for 1-2 days, making sure the reel is OK and to get a base line of it's performance. then I will clean out all the factory oil and grease from the reel, polish any parts that make contact and soak the bearings in Acetone then use the Bearing Blaster with carb or brake cleaner then resoak in Acetone then blow dry them with a hair dryer and add 1 ONE drop of oil per bearing, spin them and reinstall.
