How's your smoke holding up?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

anyone experience any durability issues yet? or potential issues that are insignificant now, but may manifest themselves later?

Been out with my Smoke reels over 2 dozen times and no problems whatsoever. Great reel.

a much younger curado-loving fishing buddy of mine just bought one of these...he bought it for blades and, so far, he likes it...it does seem a bit smoother overall with blades than the e7.

that said, personally, would not have one...probably a good reel for its price point, but that camel's hump they call the palm plate is awfully uncomfortable to me.

ymmv.
don't cry because it's over...smile because it happened.

Haha i totally agree  The drive shaft is also either very long or its the hump making it extend. The handle is about 1" further from the spool next to my zillion and just plain uncomfortable.

I own 3 of the 150 models, but have only used two (one still in the box). Each used about 2 dozen times. Too soon to tell but no issues whatsoever so far.

not sure about long term issues, but Quantum's customer service has lost me as a customer forever..

make sure you inspect the reel for poor machining job, you could find a thread I started a while ago about my experience with Quantum and the Smoke

Have not had any issues with my Smoke so far. Only time will tell if they can hold up with the Tour Editions.
