Reel pairing for my Kistler
Reel pairing for my Kistler
I just bought a Kistler 7' Jig and Toad rod and I was looking for some help on finding a reel to pair with it. I'm on a limited budget right now so I can't get too crazy. I was thinking about a Quantum Accurist and was wondering if that would make a good pairing or if anyone has some other cost friendly ideas.
Thanks
Thanks

I have a Shamano Citica on my Kistler Jig&Toad rod for the last 4 years. No problems. You can get a Citica online for less than $100 shipped.

Limited budget of $100 or so and I say Citica-E.. If you can afford a few bucks more I'd suggest the Curado E-7...

Thanks for the suggestions, I've never really had any experiences with Okuma reels but it seems like a smokin deal. I have had good experiences with shimano in past, might be about time that I go back to them

You won't regret pairing that rod with a Curado E7. I have 2 of these rods and have both of them paired with E7s. Fantastic setup.

Yep Citica E or Curado E.... Ebay for a good price.

+1 for E7
Re: Reel pairing for my Kistler
The citica is a very good reel and not too far behind the curado IMHO.

I would suggest the Abu Garcia Orra sx reel, for a reel in your price range. It pairs up nicely with my kistler rod.

The E7 is ideal but go with the Citica E if the difference in price is a tough to swallow.
Re: Reel pairing for my Kistler
another +1 for the green reel...
you can get the curado for under $150 shipped if you just shop around

If you don't have a budget look at the Daiwa Zillion 7.1:1. If you do have a budget I like the Revo STX better than the Curado E7. But you might check out the Smoke it has been getting a lot of hype lately.
Re: Reel pairing for my Kistler
IMO, No budget=Zillion Type-R for this application... STX is a good option as well.. See that TW has them for $199 right now...Finnz922 wrote:If you don't have a budget look at the Daiwa Zillion 7.1:1. If you do have a budget I like the Revo STX better than the Curado E7.
