only one reel?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

For spinning it would be a CI4 3000 size because it can fill it with 20-30 lb braid and do just about anything that is done with spinning plus throw up to 1.5 oz Paddletails or small 1/16th oz jigs with lighter line.

As for casting, it would be the Type R, fast enough to throw lipless cranks and strong enough to toss 2 oz swimbaits. I've also tossed Senkos without issue. Super smooth reel with a strong drag. I wouldn't crank big lipped baits or toss large Colorado bladed spinnerbaits, but I don't do that as much as I throw some type of swimbait or frogs.

If I had to choose 1 reel to fish with for the rest of my life it would be my old red ABU 7000. I can be 100% sure that the reel with last longer than I will.
