1st TT post! Shimano baitrunner 6000D and 8000D help!

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

1st TT post! Shimano baitrunner 6000D and 8000D help!

Hello TT,

Been following this site for a couple years now and finally registered. Quick question, I see spare spools for the 8000D on sale all the time from various persons and retailers. Will it have any issues fitting on a 6000D reel?

Thanks in advance!

They should switch fine. 6000 is shallow spool 8000 is deep spool.

You might want to ask this in the Shimano forum to be sure.
