Orra SX

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Orra SX

Post by Bassboss » Mon Mar 28, 2011 2:15 pm

I was piddling around at gander the other day with this reel. And I've gotta say it felt sweet. Felt much better than the ceanan, which was a bit of a disappointment. Aluminum frame, and the side plates felt GREAT for being graphite. It felt smooth, and love the color. Anyone wanna share their thoughts on this reel, how are the brakes? I wonder how it compares to similar reels like the PQ. :-k

I have an Orra SX that came as a combo. I got a good deal on it and wanted something I can throw Lucky Crafts in the surf. I hate to damage my expensive baitcasting reels surf fishing. For the price, it is not a bad reel at all. It casts well and relatively smooth. I have no regrets in purchasing it.
