REVO Inshore L......Thoughts?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

REVO Inshore L......Thoughts?

Post by karirick » Sun Feb 27, 2011 5:22 am

Hi Fellas,
Just purchased a REVO Inshore to use for Catfish on the Snake River. Fish average 4-8lbs with an occasional Sturgeon. I was going to get the Curado 301, but found this, and it seems like it is strong enough for my use, and it is much, much lighter than the Curado. I plan to use 14lb mono on a 7'6" Lamiglas. Do you think this reel will be too small, or light and not balance well? I'm away from home for another week, so I'm antsy to feel the combo together. Thanks.

Rick

I really like the Inshore, I use my 2 on a Loomis 8' Hot Shot rod throwing 3/8 to 1oz Big Hammers using 12 to 15lb line. I use the other one on a 7' Loomis Musky rod for shallow water rockfishing 70 to 90 feet.

I also use one of them on a ML795 to throw freestyle shads. They feel so powerfull and cast very well and they feel very solid.
I think you will do just fine withyour outfit.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am now thinking maybe the REVO Toro would be more appropriate. I have so many of the smaller low profile type reels. I'm certain the inshore would handle the taks though.

Although I dont have a Inshore, I do have a S, STX and Premier and love them all. IMO you cant go wrong with that reel for fishing darn near anything other than light stuff!
