New Calcutta Conquest coming?

I'm thinking about picking up a Calcutta Conquest 200HG. But I notice Digitaka an other don't seem to have it in stock. Given this reel is a '15 - anyone hearing anything about a new Conquest coming? I have an unfortunate track record of buying JDM reels right before a new model comes out...

I am wondering what they would even do to upgrade it? Add a MGL spool, the newest X-ship, the newest Micro-Module Gear?

Other than the DC mechanism and the MGL spool, the 2019 Calcutta DC 200 are pretty similar.

What would you like to see?

Like you said - not much you can improve on that reel. But for resale value would rather wait if a slightly updated one is coming soon.

The DC looks amazing but the 4.8 gear ratio is a big time deal breaker (for me at least).

For example: narrow as NEW Antares MGL spool, side plate like Bantam.

I guess it's not so much what they could do to improve it as it is what they might do just for the sake of a model refresh. Kind of like the 19' Stella SW...not much is different from from 13' and oddly they didn't refresh the 18k and up sizes.

Put a clicker on the cast control maybe? Change the cast control to something along the lines of the Conquest BFS system? It would be really nice if they just came out with a DC in a higher gear ratio.

I'm also curious about any pending Calcuuta/Conquest upgrades. I could use a 200 sized Conquest in my lineup myself.

I haven't heard about any changes to Conquest in the near future. I don't know about JDM specific models though.

They seem to be reserved about where they apply DC. The old Trinidad DC's trade hands for $1000 even if they are beat up. Would think they would make them again.

Not to highjack the thread as I have one out with no posts yet, but can anyone tell me the difference between the JDM and the US models of the 2018-19 Conquest? I'm also looking for a size comparison between the 300 and 400 versions.

Far from an expert here - but to me the 100,200,300 and 400 all seem pretty similar between US and JDM models now. In Japan they offer the 300 and 400 in a jigging configuration (different handle), and the 100 and 200 in HG. Aside from that the major difference seems to be price. It's still much cheaper to order anything Shimano from Japan than from a US retailer.
