STEEZ A/DAIWA MORETHAN DIFFERENCE

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

STEEZ A/DAIWA MORETHAN DIFFERENCE

Post by WEBBY005383 » Fri Feb 15, 2019 4:25 pm

I will leave out the high gear ratio morethan with the brass gears but what are the differences between the two in the 7.1 gear ratio models? any advantage of morethan? other than cosmetic?

I saw that the side plates of the morethan will both be Alu.

Im fairly sure morethan has a shallower spool than steez A, most seabass baitcasters like the excense DC has shallow spool meant to be used with light braid. I could be wrong, but morethan holds 200m of 0.205mm line (200m of 1.5 gou line, which is 0.205mm) , steez a holds 100m of 0.33mm (says 100m of 16lb/0.33mm on my box) , thats shallower by a decent amount.

This thread has everything you ever wanted to know about anything you wanted to know relating to both reels, plus a bunch of stuff you could care less about.
There is also some soap opera drama, sword fights and general petulance thrown in for good measure.

Enjoy..

Thanks for reply but would like to hear feedback from those who have both and If the morethan is worth the extra coin over the steez a other than it looks better

I'm guessing not too many have tried 7.1 Morethan yet..

No; I'm guessing it's because there's already a thread pointed out above that has addressed this very question in detail.

There's a dedicated thread to the morethan 2019. There's people in that thread who have asked and have had your question answered.

I cannot see a difference in the specs apart from cosmetics and a longer handle on the morethan. maybe the spool has a different spring or inductor but mechanically they are the same.
