NRX+ 873c or 893c?
NRX+ 873c or 893c?
For anyone who owns/has fished both of these - I'm looking for a rod to throw mainly 1/8 oz and 3/16 oz t-rigs around fairly heavy cover (pads mostly). I live up north so the chances of having to pull out 6+ pound bass are pretty slim. I'm leaning 893 because of the light weights in terms of castability, but would love to hear from anyone who has fished both on what their choice would be. For what it's worth, I already own a Conquest 903c and an NRX+ 904c. Thanks.

So you already have 2 rods that will do what you want a 3rd rod to do.
Re: NRX+ 873c or 893c?
893. The 873 CRR is a more powerful rod.
Re: NRX+ 873c or 893c?
893 for sure. The 873c not going to load well unless you have some very heavy plastic attached to those light weights.
Re: NRX+ 873c or 893c?
You know...don't let the 893c fool you--that thing is surprisingly more powerful than what you would read on all these forums.
I was just fishing the CA Delta over the weekend and fishing in some really thick weeds. I was pitching a Yamatanuki 3.5" next to the hyacinth mats into little holes and was pulling them out without a problem.
That being said--3/16 oz with a RI Beaver is probably enough to give a little load on the 873c. I would bring the 873c so that there was no question of whether or not I had enough power.
I do have both rods!
