Poison Adrena 6’10” M

Post by rubs96 » Mon Jan 02, 2023 7:10 pm

Looking for a medium power casting rod since I currently don’t have one!

If you have the rod, what do you use it for?

Will pair it with a Chronarch 50Mg \:D/

I had this rod. It doesn't grab Daiwa reels snugly, so it went bye-bye. Super-nice rod, though. It felt like a M+ in hand, but behaves like a true medium under load.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

I think it's a great, multi purpose and very versatile rod. Lighter bottom contact and moving baits work well with it imo. The taper is great if you are looking for one rod to beat the shoreline with. Daiwa reels are not a perfect fit, but I find them to secure to the reel seat just fine. My only complaint is that the monocoque grip can get a bit slipp in the rain, and a bit cold in the later months. Great for top water as well, but don't plan on throwing anything over 5/8 oz max.

Also one of the more sensitive rods in this price range.

What are the intended applications?

I fish with nothing but Daiwa reels and have never had a problem on any of the Shimano Poison Adrena rods that I own. Not sure what these guys are talking about.

I had to put heat shrink on the feet of a TDZ and an og Alphas to get the reels to seat securely. Both of mine were gen 1 rods.

I picked it up today so I am looking forward to using it as soon as possible - maybe early spring for walleye.

Feels nice with my Calais 200A!

I think it will be my jerkbait (Vision 110s mainly) and topwater (PopMaxs) rod. I suppose the odd small swimbait and ned rig too if it’s the one rod I bring with me to the river for smallmouth and walleye.

Great to hear! I wanted to free up my Conquest 783 to use as a dedicated spinnerbait rod!

I’m excited to put it to work!

(Un)Luckily, I only have one Daiwa baitcaster! ;)

Not the best stick for anything under 3/16 oz imo, but I guess it could suffice in a pinch.

Thanks for the heads up, useful information. It's unfortunate that the reel seat doesn't seem to hold on to a Daiwa reel feet well?

My pleasure!
I paired these rods with Shimano Metanium 16, Antares 19, Daiwa Steez SV TW, Zillion 21, Tatula 20 SV TW and there is no problem with reel seat.

Good to know, perhaps hoohoorjoo got a bad example.
