New vs old Orochi XX tour versatile F6-70XX
New vs old Orochi XX tour versatile F6-70XX
I just noticed the new tour versatile is rated to 1oz instead of the 1.5oz that it used to be. Does this mean the rod has gone down in power? or is this just a label thing. I want to replace my old TV, would the new one be an exact replacement?
Re: New vs old Orochi XX tour versatile F6-70XX
The old TV was listed as a F6 “Medium Fast”, the new TV is listed as a F6 Fast. Slower rods typically get specced with higher max weights because the slower tip cushions the blow on the cast, so to speak.
That faster blank might be the difference.

Is there an exact replacement for it? 7’H/MF rated to 1.5oz. The only other higher end rod i know with this spec is the X7 diablo fastmove

Megabass F7-72LV Perfect Pitch is an option, though it's rated as XF.

No, i need the MF tip, because i throw treble hook baits on it

The P5 Super Destroyer is F6 Heavy rated up to 1 1/4. It's moderate fast but only 6'9". It can crank but is overpowered on regular squarebills in my opinion.

when i said treble hook baits, i meant bigger baits like 130 whopper plopper and 8XD.

Right now im jsut trying to look for an exact replacement. 7ft H/MF rated up to 1.5oz.
I know majorcraft makes rods in this spec, but I want a slightly more refined rod than what they offer. The only other megabass rod i know that has this is the destroyer x7 diablo fastmove, which is nearly impossible to get now.

Maybe take a look for an Orochi XXX Mat Bucker or Destruction? Those rods sound similar to what you are looking for.
