That Falcon Expert Gunsmoke 6'9" L was my first combo with a JDM reel, the OG 2000 Burgundy Shimano Scorpion 1000. That combo with 8lb CXX was magical for 1/4-3/8 Topwaters.
That's good to know! :big grin:
Actually, dat be me who typed that.

Sorry. I tried to get rid of the other part of the post so only your 2 sentences remained. I didn't notice it said 'shadybanks' instead of 'dragon1' after my deletions. I'd like to blame my old eyes, but it was just carelessness on my part.

EDIT: My 6'9" Light has only been used to learn how to cast #5 Shad Raps. Normally I'm casting lures in the 5/16-1/2 oz. range weights (listed, not actual). Which is why I was glad to read feedback from an actual user of the rod.

No biggie at all...I just don't want someone else to live on in my memories. Lol.

I can see the 6'9"L working well for the #5 Shad Raps with a limp line, although the #7 would likely cast a bit better. I'd love to get hold of the blank that Falcon used to build this rod, and it was likely a Shikari SHX.
