P5 Hien
Re: P5 Hien
The Hien is a nice speck from MB ... sort of like an MBR842 - maybe lighter. I have a Tomahawk GTC Hien which means technically, it was intended for cranks, but it's full graphite and I actually use it as a bait finesse stick now:

Re: P5 Hien
I got my new P5 Bait Finesse on the 23rd and I bought it for the express purpose of throwing an Okashira Screwhead with 3" Spark Shad and the lighter spybaits (Duo 80, Duo 80 GFix and the Arashi ones). Yesterday I put on an SV105P spooled with 12# FC Sniper and spent an hour or so casting the screwhead and the Arashi spybait off the dock. Casting was effortless and I was getting distances between 80-100 ft. I haven't really decided on which reel will take up permanent residence yet (it'll be the SV105P or a Steez SV TW H) but the plan is to spool up with 8 or 10 lb FC Sniper which should add a little more distance to the cast.
I was completely taken aback at how thin and how light this rod is (97g / 3.42oz on my scale). My home waters are the St Lawrence River so I won't be boat flipping anything with this rod but I think it will be a really fun rod to fish with.

Re: P5 Hien
I picked one up a few months ago from the tackle trap. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite rods. I love the medium to fast action. I am using it for weightless t-rigs, light shakey head, light crankbaits and the oneten jr. I am using a Daiwa pX68 with it. Never tried fishing the 3" spark shad with it. Will have to try them next. Love this rod. It is just a pleasure to fish all day with. Thinking about picking up another one after I get the x-bites.
