Just wondering if anyone has the omega swimbait rod in heavy or xtra heavy and how you like it. Actions , weight and aesthetics .. I know there is a review Cal did which was great but I would like a little more info.
Thanks in advance fellas !

Re: Leviathan rods ..
I have a XH. I like it a lot. Has a nice moderate taper and it loads nicely.
Rod looks nice to me. I like the way Swimbait is written
-The balance to me is superb compared to my other swimbait rods. It balances right at the locking nut with a Lexa 300 or most other reels so it feels light in weight to me based on the balance.
-I can throw 6inch mag drafts on it to Deps 250s.
-The 20% off Swimbait Universe discount made the price much better.
The things that I don't like:
-The hook keeper and position
(my line can get caught under it)
-The exposed threads.
(I can hold the rod in a way to not be bothered by the feel of them, but I don't like them)
-The handle will catch on my shirt depending on how I cast.
* The guide size may be a hindrance depending on what you like and if you use leaders. The tip guide on my Okuma SBX looks like a manhole *giggidy* in comparison.

Here is a wide angle pic of the balance point with a stock Lexa 300

Thanks for the great Info!
Can you explain a little further on the “ guide hindrance “ ?
I will be using full mono or 40/50 lb braid to 20-30 lb leader, will that be an issue ?
Handle length is causing the handle in the shirt?

Re: Leviathan rods ..
They're smallish guides, so the size of your connection knot will have an impact (literally and figuratively) on casting performance.Real Pudd legend wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 9:08 am
