off topic but what size reel you guys running on the 7-6" suck between 2500 or 3000 in Daiwa. I'll check out the Kage too. Sounds nice!

2500 Stella on my NRX 901
3000 Certate on my Flyssa
Both reels are very close in weight....
I was going to choose the Daiwa Exist for my Flyssa but the Certate balances out the rod.

I had a 2506 Caldia on mine but found a good deal on a 3012 Caldia and it balances beautifully with it.Thunderblack1984 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 9:45 amoff topic but what size reel you guys running on the 7-6" suck between 2500 or 3000 in Daiwa. I'll check out the Kage too. Sounds nice!

It really is an impressive rod, especially when you factor in the price. I have the original 7'6" ML and loved it but ended up breaking the tip. I have the 7'3" MXF and it's pretty solid too. I'm planning on trying one of the Kage casting rods, probably 7'3" MHF.Thunderblack1984 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 5:15 amI just picked up the cork tatula M/ML 7-6 last week. Rod is super impressive for the price. I have fished a lot of rods and for the money this one is the most impressive for the cost. Made me want to buy more than one which never happens.adam lancia wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 3:15 amMy favourite finesse rod isn't as high end as some mentioned here but my Tatula 7'6" MML is absolutely awesome for Neko rigs, which I use a lot for smallies here. I have it paired with a '14 Caldia 3012.
My second would be my 852 GLX. So far, I only have one fish on it, but the power and taper are spot on and it's beautifully balanced with a Twin Power 2500S.

The cork Tatula 7'1" ML spinning rod is totally great, regardless of price. The taper is very versatile, great caster too. Balances great with a Tatula LT 3000.

X2 it's the one rod that I have never found anything else to compare it to. I use mine for Dropshot, Neds, light cranks, micro jerk baits, etc... Mine are paired with 1003 Certates.
Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

The zodias 7' ml and m are impressive to me for the price. I have 4 nrx, a glx , z bone, poison adrena in casting but for spinning i haven't jumped to that level because i cant image they would be that much better. In my hands the zodias spinning rods are much more sensitive than the zodias casting models.
Re: Finesse spinning rods.. What's your first choice?
There are huge differences in spinning rods as well, go try it out! A NRX DSR rod will outperform a Zodias by wide margins, for example.bronzebacks wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 9:56 amThe zodias 7' ml and m are impressive to me for the price. Man you gonna make me crawl down that rabbit hole now. The other reason is i prefer casting gear and have a few setups i can do everything a spinning setup can. But i do need to fish a spinning nrx. Does the dsr 822 do neds and shakey ok?Drakestar wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 2:01 pmThere are huge differences in spinning rods as well, go try it out! It definitely does a good job at shakey and neds. Tubes as well. It’s not my first choice, but that’s mostly because I don’t like clipping off the DS rig if I can help it, and so the DSR is a dedicated DS rod. For more versatility, the 852S might be an option.bronzebacks wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 6:02 pmMan you gonna make me crawl down that rabbit hole now. My original comment stemmed from the fact that I used to throw DS on a low-end Powell 711 and liked it a lot already. Got an Expride 6’10” ML as an upgrade and was disappointed because I couldn’t feel that much of a difference. Got the NRX and THEN it was night & day.

I think I'd like the 872. I fish shallow rocky rivers mostly and rarely ever drop shot. When i fish for green fish i never use spinning setupsDrakestar wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 7:33 amIt definitely does a good job at shakey and neds. Tubes as well. I noticed you like Raid Japan rods quite a bit. I personally never heard about them before.Steffen_82 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 7:06 pmmy favorite finesse spinning are the following from ml to UL

They look very interesting.
