How do you balance your NRX (894c) rod?
Hi all,
purchased a NRX 894c and while I like the rod for the most part, the balance is a bit off and I am wondering how I can address this in the most visually pleasing, non destructive way.
Thanks all!

Appropriate size chair cap from a hardware store can add quarters for added weight if needed.

Welcome to the wonderful world of NRX. Anything above the 853 is just plain tip-heavy, and I mean uncomfortably top-heavy. Seems like they'd address that on a $600+ rod.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

I only have two for this reason alone.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 9:12 pmWelcome to the wonderful world of NRX. Anything above the 853 is just plain tip-heavy, and I mean uncomfortably top-heavy. Seems like they'd address that on a $600+ rod.

They could certainly learn a thing or two from Megabass about balance.Gone Phishin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 10:19 pmI only have two for this reason alone.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 9:12 pmWelcome to the wonderful world of NRX. Why do people keep buying these rods?

Supposedly they are SO sensitive. The 853 I used left me underwhelmed, to say the least. Guess I was expecting it to shoot flares or sparks when a fish bit.

893c is a joy to fish with.
873crr is also a great rod.
i have a few of each and love fishing them.
the run of 802s, 803s, and 804s also gets a ton of attention in my boat.

i sold the 853 for the same reason. they're incredibly light even though the balance isn't great so the combo will still feel light. what r u using instead?hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 3:55 pmSupposedly they are SO sensitive. A custom built on the Lamiglas Infinity 873 blank. It's really a 2.5 power and is awesome for flukes, but still fishes a 3/8 jig+trailer extremely well.Chode wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 5:32 pmi sold the 853 for the same reason. they're incredibly light even though the balance isn't great so the combo will still feel light. what r u using instead?hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 3:55 pmSupposedly they are SO sensitive. I wasn’t crazy about the 853 either, sold it probably within 6 months. Replaced it with the 893c & it seemed like a night/day difference.Chode wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 5:32 pmi sold the 853 for the same reason. they're incredibly light even though the balance isn't great so the combo will still feel light. what r u using instead?hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 3:55 pmSupposedly they are SO sensitive.
