Looking to hear from anyone who owns an 893 on how it handles 3/8 jig plus trailer. I had an 853 and felt that the 3/8 plus trailer overpowered the rod a bit.

I feel it’s near perfect for that however if your talking heavy cover such as grass go to the 873 or 894. The 894 is probably the perfect all around jig rod

I tend to think of the 853c/893c as finesse jig/senko type rods... the 873crr picks up the 3/8+trailer nicely as it's really more like a 4 power, and the 894c for 1/2. The 893/873/894 is a great bottom bait trio. I also use the 854c for skipping jigs around docks and under trees, etc. I recently picked up an 853c to use for Senkos, Roboworms, and the like.
