Hey everyone!
First post here after several days of lurking! Quick question, if you were choosing one of the rods listed above for jigs and heavy t-rigs...which one?
thanks in advance!
NRX 854c or GLX 894c?
Re: NRX 854c or GLX 894c?
I have a NRX 894c and it's pretty great for open water 1/4-1/2oz t-rigs and jigs. I bought a GLX 854 for tight quarters with the same weight range of lures. I thought the 854 NRX would be too light, I feel like I made the right choice.
Re: NRX 854c or GLX 894c?
In my opinion the 854 fishes lighter, in my hands, with a softer tip. If I had to pick of cut off, where where I would go "up" to the 894,it would be around 1/2 oz. My buddy (I sold mine) uses the 854 as his go-to for 3/8 jig with a relatively smaller trailer. He also really likes it t-rigging around 5/16 + magnum trick worm. I have year of experience with the 894 (albeit more NRX) and I believe it excels in that range of 5/8 - 3/4 oz football head, 3/8 tungsten + big brush hog, and heavier pitching. To confuse matters, the 873 CRR may be the rod you are looking for
