I watched several Rebellion rods videos last night. One was from a Japan tackle show that showed a 6'10" H Baitcasting rod that also had the -SB at the end of the model #.
Could it mean "super balanced" ? I would like to know before I pre-order one.
Nope, that's for "swimbait". Its usually a regular action, not fast.

Well that doesn't make sense. If you look at the full model # it has and F in it that generally stands for fast action on Daiwa rods.

I believe that's for single hook paddletail swimbaits.

I guess it could be a "fast action" swimbait rod with a soft tip but a lot of backbone.

If that is the case it will likely be my new chatterbait rod for launching over big grass flats :big grin:

I just found the rods on Daiwa Australia's site. The SB does indeed stand for swim bait. They have slow, mod fast, and fast action models.

Regarding the 7'11" SB rod - The main Rebellion page on the Daiwa global site lists the rod with a lure rating of 3/8-4oz, and is consistent with several other Rebellion swimbait rods. None of which are coming to the states. The US Rebellion page is of course different but I'm assuming it's a mistake.

It was incorrectly listed, but it has been corrected.

The Tackle Trap has a bunch of them in stock and shipping now. All models haven't arrived, but many have. I just picked up the 610MHRB and will be out tossing some spinner baits and vibrating jigs on it later this afternoon. They look like a high end JDM rod, and they feel really nice in hand too.

that's the rod i'm most interested in. i'd like to hear an opinion on it. i plan to use it for spinnerbaits, but also thinking it would be a good target crank rod. lure ratings are the same as the old tds crank rods, which i used for a long time.

I received my Rebellion 7'11" swimbait rod from TT last week and have been able to use it the times now. Thus far, I'm really liking the rod. It took a bit for me to get accustomed to the action and how to get the rod loaded properly but once I did I was casting it extremely well. I haven't tested either extreme of it's weight rating. The lightest lure I've thrown on it is a Vatallion (1 3/8oz) and the heaviest is an Evergreen Breemslide (3oz). The rod has a great capability for both distance and accuracy for it's price point. It's comfortable to fish with and looks amazing. Overall I'd say it hits well above it's price point. Though its certainly not in the same league as a Mark 48 I'd liken it to a "poor man's" version of it.
