When I had an 893c and was throwing some 1/4 oz. stuff, I had an Aldebaran on it. I know it seems like a weird combo. Could have used a slightly longer handle, but it did the job nicely.

I had a alde 50 on mine also for awhile. If that alde 50/mgl came in a XG model, that would be my #1 option for the 893

Thanks for the input everyone. I thought most would say 893. Since the water is almost hard here I'm going to look for a deal on an 893. What reel out of these 4 would best balance the rod? Chronarch 50mg, Alphas sv 105, ss sv 103 or a tatula sv? Thanks
The heaviest reel will balance the best.
The difference in balance point, with the 4 reels you mentioned, is going to be only about 1/2". With the lightest reel SS SV 103 the balance point will be at the front of the threads where the hook keeper is and 1/2" closer with the heaviest reel Tat SV.

Thanks everyone for the great help. I really wanted to try my alphas sv 105 but how much line will it hold with 15 pound fluorocarbon? Can I get a spool for the alphas 105 with more line capacity? If not, I think I'm going to use the ss sv 103. Thanks again for all the advice!

Not weird at all, I have a Core 50 mg7 with a faster gear set in it and still love the combo.
