Balancing rods

Post by mark poulson » Mon Jul 22, 2019 4:06 pm

Do you balance your rods?
If so, how do you do it?
I do, and use the rubber chair leg caps from Ace Hdwe, and lead weights inserted into them and held on with electrical tape.

Those I think will benefit from it get lead fitted inside the rod tube.

No way. If it isn't balanced enough to fish comfortably I'd sell it.
This is the way.

I don't add weight, I will try my best to get a reel that will help balance the combo out.

Nothing wrong with adding weight to the butt to balance imo. Do it all the time with 10'+ long steelhead rods. Harder to do however on a rod from the factory, if you still want to keep aesthetics nice that is.
