Well... this is unfortunate. Just came across a "New" Conquest for sale far under msrp. Upon closer inspection, it would appear to be a fake. Authentic handle sticker but excessive thread wrapping and the wrong rod specs for a 905. What say you TT?

Logos definitely look different than the conquests I've seen.

How does the weight compare?

All the logos look different from mine; appear similar though. Wrapping seems to be slightly different color. The rod blank tape is quite different on mine. The cqt blank looks like it does on the glorious and ultima poison rods. So, this is off. What does the butt end look and is the handle og loomis? Looks like a pretty clean build though.

Wow! Crazy. Looks much different than any of mine doesn’t even look spiral x wrapped. Do the guides say Fuji torzite? Also the cork on my conquests looks very smooth compared.

How much was it being sold for? I assume even with bottom-barrel components and a cheap way to print the factory sticker, a knockoff would still have a good bit of money/time invested in it, so I wonder how profitable it would really be?

Good question - based on the photos clearly looks fake. Been hearing about fake Conquest and NRX rods more and more... i'd be very curious to know where it was purchased. eBay or Facebook would be my guess...

Everything about that rod looks fake Terrible cork, epoxy is not smooth, labels don’t look right(Xs and Gloomis logo look terrible), thread color is way to blue, labeled Xfast and not fast, rod ratings are off (10-15lb????) and doesn’t look like it has the wrapping down the blank. They also have an attention/warning label just past the Spiral/High Power X labels that’s not there. I wouldn’t give this a second thought.

I didnt purchase the rod, just saw it for sale online so I cant comment on anything other than what we see in the pics. Do you guys really think I'd wear socks and sandals?!?! I just thought it was unfortunate that there are now fake loomis rods in circulation.

That cork looks horrible.

My conquest has the best cork I have seen, even better then St Croix.
